Insurance producers who have held an insurance license for 20 years or more would be exempt from mandatory continuing education requirements under the "Insurance Continuing Education Responsibility Act"

Exempt licensees may voluntarily attend continuing education courses but are not required to do so

Current law requires most insurance producers to complete 24 hours of continuing education every two years (biennially)

The exemption applies to producers licensed in life, accident and health, property, casualty, variable life/annuity, and personal lines insurance
