Counties may demolish dilapidated structures within municipalities when a memorandum of understanding exists between the county commission and municipality seeking assistance with removal or demolition of certain properties

Municipalities may seek aid from county commissions by entering into memoranda of understanding to destroy or demolish dilapidated structures within municipal boundaries

Parties to these agreements may use either the county commission's procedures under §7-1-3ff or the municipality's procedures under §8-12-16 for addressing unsafe, unsanitary, or dangerous buildings

Amends existing code sections governing county commission authority (§7-1-3ff) and municipal powers (§8-12-16) to add new subsections enabling this intergovernmental cooperation

Effective immediately upon passage (passed April 10, 2025)
