Requires firearm owners to store loaded firearms in a securely locked box, secure location, or with a trigger lock when a minor (under age 16) is likely to gain access, unless the firearm is carried on their body or within immediate reach

Creates a misdemeanor offense for failing to safely store firearms, punishable by a fine of $50 to $500, up to one year in jail, or both

Establishes a separate misdemeanor when improper storage results in a minor accessing the firearm and exhibiting it in a public place or in a rude, careless, angry, or threatening manner, punishable by up to $500 fine, up to one year in jail, or both

Provides an exception if the minor obtains the firearm through an unlawful entry by any person
