Private Patrick Board was born June 12, 1750, in York County, Pennsylvania, and became the first settler in Reedy District of present-day Roane County on 300 acres granted by Virginia in 1816

Board served in the Revolutionary War from 1776-1777, fighting under multiple commanders including Generals Washington and Wayne, and was present at the capture of Lord Cornwallis at the Battle of Yorktown

Board received his 300 acres of land as payment for military service and farmed it until his death on November 6, 1839

Directs the Division of Highways to install signs identifying the memorial bridge and requires the Clerk of the House to forward a copy of the resolution to the Commissioner of the Division of Highways
