Honors Corporal Testerman, who served in the U.S. Army during World War II on the front lines during the Liberation of the Philippines, completing two enlistment terms

Corporal Testerman received numerous military awards including the Bronze Star, two Purple Hearts, Good Conduct Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, and Philippine Liberation Medal

Testerman earned the Bronze Star for saving over 120 soldiers by staying awake during night watch by holding a live grenade, allowing him to warn his platoon of an imminent enemy attack

After the war, Testerman worked as a welder in the coal mining industry in West Virginia from 1946 until retiring in 1973 due to black lung disease, and passed away on October 14, 1994
