West Virginia will issue professional and occupational licenses, registrations, or certificates without examination to individuals who establish state residency or are military spouses accompanying active-duty members to a permanent duty station in the state, provided they hold equivalent credentials in good standing from another state

Applicants must have met their original state's minimum education, work experience, and clinical supervision requirements, passed any required examinations, and have no revoked licenses or unresolved disciplinary actions

Special requirements apply to physicians (must have completed approved graduate medical education) and dentists (must complete a clinical hand-skills exam); state-specific law examinations may still be required

The act does not apply to law licenses, boards under direct federal agency oversight with less restrictive requirements, or interstate compact privileges

Licensing boards must track application data and submit quarterly reports to the Department of Commerce Secretary and legislative Government Organization committees beginning July 1, 2025
