Transfers audit authority for volunteer fire companies from the State Auditor to the West Virginia Legislative Auditor

Requires each volunteer fire company to be audited at least once every five years, rather than annually

Allows the Legislative Auditor to conduct additional audits within the five-year period if there is cause to believe loss, mismanagement, misuse, or waste of funds may occur or is occurring

Audit scope includes all income regardless of source, assets, liabilities, and all expenditures of the volunteer fire company

Legislative Auditor must absorb audit costs and refer any suspicious financial transactions to the State Auditor for investigation and potential prosecution

Effective date: July 6, 2025 (90 days from passage on April 7, 2025)
