Expands excused absences to include up to five college visits per school year and participation in West Virginia Department of Education-recognized student organizations including SkillsUSA, Future Business Leaders of America, Health Occupations Students of America, Common Ground Partnership, 4-H, and FFA activities

Students participating in sanctioned organization activities must be credited as present (same as educational field trips) and cannot be marked absent; organizations must provide documentation of participation

Students must make up missed schoolwork from sanctioned activities and cannot have grades adversely affected due to participation-related absences

Total excused absences for school/county-approved activities, college visits, and sanctioned organization participation combined cannot exceed 10 per school year

Students who are suspended, expelled, or assigned to alternative schools cannot receive attendance credit for sanctioned organization activities during their disciplinary period
