Increases the penalty for delivering a controlled substance or counterfeit controlled substance that results in the user's death from 3-15 years to a determinate life sentence in a state correctional facility

Prohibits suspension of the life sentence for drug delivery resulting in death

Applies when the delivered substance, alone or combined with other controlled substances, proximately causes the death of the person who used, ingested, or consumed it

Designates this legislation as "Lauren's Law"

Leaves unchanged the separate offense of failing to seek medical assistance for someone experiencing an overdose, which carries a 1-5 year sentence
