Increases the maximum number of children allowed in informal family child care settings from 3 or fewer children to up to 12 children

Changes the counting method so that children living in the caregiver's household are now excluded from the total count, rather than included as under the previous law

Removes the requirement that counted children must be under six years of age for informal family child care settings

Informal family child care is defined as nonresidential child care services provided for compensation in the provider's own home to at least one child not related to the caregiver
