Magistrate vacancies with unexpired terms exceeding two years must be filled by nonpartisan judicial election held concurrently with either the primary or general election, whichever occurs first

Excludes magistrate office vacancies from certain provisions in subsection (d) that apply to Supreme Court justices, Intermediate Court of Appeals judges, circuit court judges, and family court judges

Magistrate appointments continue to be made according to existing provisions in §50-1-6 of the code

Corrects inconsistencies created by 2022 legislative amendments (HB4785) regarding the process for filling magistrate vacancies
