Allows county boards of education to satisfy early childhood classroom assistant requirements by hiring a full-time interventionist who can be assigned to cover up to two classrooms (grades 2-3 only)

Excludes kindergarten and first grade from the two-classroom interventionist option; these grades require a full-time early childhood assistant, aide, paraprofessional, or interventionist dedicated to each individual classroom

Permits part-time interventionists as an alternative when full-time interventionists are unavailable, but limits part-time staff to serving only one classroom

Maintains existing pupil-teacher ratios: maximum 20 students per teacher in kindergarten (with an assistant if more than 10 pupils) and 25 students per teacher in grades 1-3 (with an assistant if more than 12 pupils)

Effective immediately upon passage (April 9, 2025)
