Requests the Joint Committee on Government and Finance to study trends in sexual assault crime reports, arrests, and convictions in West Virginia over the previous 10 years

Study would examine ratios of sexual assault reports to arrests, conviction rates compared to charges filed, offense classifications at conviction, and other case dispositions

West Virginia ranks 17th nationwide in reports of forcible rape, and 88% of sexual assaults in the state are not cleared through arrest of a perpetrator

Committee must report findings, conclusions, recommendations, and any draft legislation to the 2026 regular legislative session

Study expenses would be paid from legislative appropriations to the Joint Committee on Government and Finance
