Recognizes Cottage Hill Farm in Petersburg, Grant County, as West Virginia's outstanding family-owned Hereford cattle farm for 2024

Cottage Hill Farm is a 1,000-acre purebred Hereford cow/calf operation with six broiler houses, owned by W.C. Taylor

W.C. Taylor implemented extensive conservation practices including no-till planting, cover crops, rotational grazing, contour strips to reduce erosion, and phosphorous-based nutrient application to protect water quality

The Taylor family has been active in community service, including 4-H leadership, farm-related boards, and participation in WVU Extension research projects that helped develop voluntary programs for Chesapeake Bay watershed protection

Previous recognitions include Carole Taylor's 2019 West Virginia Women in Agriculture award, a 2007 international Family Farm Environmental Excellence Award, and W.C. Taylor's 40+ years as a Potomac Valley Conservation District supervisor
