Designates February 27, 2025, as Sexual Violence Awareness Day at the West Virginia Legislature

West Virginia ranks 5th nationally in lifetime prevalence of contact sexual violence, with nearly two-thirds of female residents affected according to the National Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence Survey

Forcible sex offenses are the number one reason for incarceration in West Virginia prisons, costing over $53 million annually for incarcerating inmates in state prisons and juvenile facilities for sex-related offenses

Recognizes the state's 12 regional rape crisis centers and the West Virginia Foundation for Rape Information and Services for nearly 45 years of crisis services and prevention efforts

Directs the Clerk to forward a copy of the resolution to the West Virginia Foundation for Rape and Information Services
