Recognizes the 80th anniversary of the Claude Worthington Benedum Foundation, established in 1944 by Michael Late Benedum (Bridgeport, WV) and Sarah Lantz Benedum (Blacksville, WV)

The foundation was named for their son Claude Worthington Benedum, who died at age 20 from the 1918 flu epidemic while serving in the U.S. Army

Acknowledges the foundation as the largest philanthropic foundation contributing primarily to West Virginia organizations, focusing on community and economic development, education, and health

Since 2001, the foundation expanded its mission to include entrepreneurship as a strategic initiative and has invested millions in rural economic development throughout West Virginia

Directs the Senate Clerk to forward a copy of the resolution to the Claude Worthington Benedum Foundation
