Allows magistrates or judges to order mental health evaluations before setting bail for defendants charged with specific offenses including repeat domestic violence protective order violations, personal safety order violations, third or subsequent domestic violence offenses, and threats of terroristic acts

Mental health evaluations must be performed by a state-licensed mental health provider and scheduled within 10 days of the court order

Examiners must submit evaluation reports to the magistrate within 48 hours of completing the assessment

Magistrates or judges must hold a bond hearing within 5 days of receiving the mental health evaluation report

Evaluation purpose is to determine whether mental health treatment or counseling should be required as a condition of bond
