Commercial motor carriers face fines up to $3,000 per violation when their drivers fail to meet the new identification requirements

Drivers violating the citizenship/visa documentation requirements are prohibited from operating commercial vehicles in the state until compliant, with violations punishable as a misdemeanor carrying fines up to $1,000 and/or 90 days imprisonment

Commercial carriers must retrieve vehicles involved in violations within 12 hours after notification and payment of fines, or cargo owners may arrange transfer to another vehicle
