Mandates training for all teachers, school leaders, paraprofessionals, and specialized instructional support personnel on trauma-informed approaches

Defines trauma-informed practices to include evidence-based professional development promoting understanding that traumatic experiences are common among students and can impact learning, behavior, and relationships

Requires adoption of disciplinary procedures that use holistic assessments, positive behavioral interventions, and restorative practices while avoiding harsh exclusionary punishments

Directs schools to promote a culture of acceptance, help students form positive relationships, integrate social-emotional learning into academics, and recognize and prevent adult implicit bias
