Bars institutions from requiring students to add employees, coaches, professors, or administrators to their social media contacts as a condition of participating in curricular or extracurricular activities

Prevents institutions from requiring students or employees to change their social media privacy settings

Protects individuals from retaliation, including discharge, discipline, denial of admission, or exclusion from activities, for exercising these privacy rights

Applies to both public and private postsecondary institutions but does not restrict viewing publicly available information online
