Licensed emergency medical services agencies may establish community paramedicine programs allowing EMTs, EMT-intermediates, and paramedics to provide nonemergency medical services in their communities

Programs must operate under an EMS agency medical director who establishes approved services, clinical protocols, and training requirements for participating personnel

Authorized nonemergency services include chronic disease management, health evaluations, home safety inspections, medication compliance assistance, post-discharge follow-up care, and referrals to community health and social services

Community paramedicine services may be delivered through telehealth in accordance with state and federal law

Health insurers regulated under the state's health care corporations article may provide coverage for community paramedicine program services
