Increases the retirement benefit multiplier for deputy sheriffs from 2.5% to 3.0% of final average salary per year of credited service, effective for members retired on or after July 1, 2018

Amends §7-14D-2 of the West Virginia Code governing the Deputy Sheriff Retirement System Act

The accrued benefit calculation multiplies the multiplier percentage by the member's final average salary and years of credited service

Benefits remain subject to IRS Section 415 limits on maximum compensation allowed for retirement benefit calculations

Introduced February 12, 2026, and referred to the House Committee on Finance; bill includes a fiscal note requirement
