Requests the Capitol Building Commission, Secretary of Department of Administration, and Director of Real Estate Division to conduct an immediate assessment of trees along California Avenue and Kanawha Boulevard on the State Capitol Complex grounds

Addresses tree structural failures over the past two years including broken trunks, falling limbs, and debris shedding that have destroyed at least one vehicle and damaged multiple others, costing the state tens of thousands of dollars

Urges trimming trees back to the grass side of sidewalks or removing and replacing hazardous trees to protect public safety and state property

Notes that no pedestrians, employees, or visitors have been injured or killed by falling limbs, but ongoing hazards exist over sidewalks, parking areas, and roadways
