County boards of education may rescind or reverse a school closure decision by majority vote at any time on or before July 15 of the same calendar year

Upon reversal, the school is considered open and operational, and the board must notify the State Superintendent and State Board of Education

County boards must take administrative steps to reinstate staffing, student assignments, transportation, and budgeting necessary to operate the reversed school

Reversals must occur at a duly noticed public meeting and be recorded in official board minutes

After July 15, county boards cannot reopen or reverse a closed school for that same upcoming school year
