West Virginia state agencies and appointing authorities would be required to give first consideration to U.S. military veterans and retired or disabled law enforcement officers when hiring for state positions

Amends §29-6-7 of the West Virginia Code to add this hiring preference as a new duty of the Director of Personnel

The requirement would be added to the existing list of 14 duties and responsibilities of the Director of Personnel within the Civil Service System
