Grants uncertified municipal fire officials, inspectors, and plans examiners a 2-year probationary period to obtain required certifications

Establishes certification requirements through National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) examinations, including Certified Fire Protection Specialist, Certified Fire Inspector, and Certified Fire Plans Examiner credentials

Allows municipalities to designate code enforcers on a full-time, part-time, or contractual basis and to indemnify these personnel

Designates municipalities as the authority having jurisdiction when their certified personnel perform fire code enforcement duties
