Sarah Abigail (Mullennex) Minear (August 11, 1941 – August 26, 2025) served as West Virginia State Senator from the 14th Senatorial District for 12 years beginning in 1994, becoming the first woman elected from that seven-county district

Founded and served as president of the Tucker Community Foundation (1988-1994) and the West Virginia Grantmakers Association (1992-1995, now Philanthropy West Virginia)

Served on numerous Senate committees including Finance, Banking and Insurance, Economic Development, and Natural Resources during her legislative tenure

Held leadership positions including Chair of Monongalia General Hospital Board of Directors and Vice President of Adaland Mansion, Inc., and received the 70th Anniversary Golden Horseshoe Award in 2010 for her YMCA service

Resolution extends Senate sympathies to her family and directs the Clerk to forward a copy to family and friends
