Residents of nursing care facilities and assisted living facilities may renew state identification cards by mail without appearing in person, effective July 1, 2026

Renewal by mail requires submitting an application, fee, and notarized attestation from the facility administrator confirming full-time residency

Mail renewal is limited to 2 times within a 16-year period unless the person's most recent photo on file is less than 16 years old

Persons changing personal identifying information on their card are not eligible for mail renewal and must appear in person

Wyoming Department of Transportation must promulgate rules to implement the new process
