School districts must notify parents/guardians of any change in a student's educational, physical, mental, or emotional health during school hours or school-supervised activities, and cannot adopt policies discouraging such notification

Written parental permission required at least 1 day prior to student instruction on sexual orientation, gender identity, or diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI); parents must receive 5 days notice with opt-out option for assemblies or guest speakers on these topics

School personnel and students cannot be required to use a student's preferred pronouns if they do not align with the student's biological sex

School district employees may opt out of mandatory trainings, classes, or activities involving diversity, equity, or inclusion

Starting school year 2026-2027, districts must publish all written policies on their official website and post updates within 30 days of adoption; effective date July 1, 2026
