Wyoming Board of Medicine may grant provisional medical licenses to internationally trained physicians who have a written job offer from a Wyoming health care provider and have passed USMLE Steps 1 and 2 (or COMLEX equivalent) within 3 attempts each

Applicants must hold a foreign medical degree, maintain 5 years of good standing with their home country's licensing body, complete residency training or have 7+ years of practice experience, and demonstrate English fluency through ECFMG certification

Provisional license holders must work under a board-approved supervising physician for the first year with on-site supervision during patient contact, then within 15-minute availability thereafter; controlled substance prescriptions require supervisor co-signature during year one

Conversion to a full unrestricted Wyoming medical license is available after 3 years of continuous practice without discipline, provided the physician passes USMLE Step 3 (or COMLEX equivalent) within 3 attempts

Provisional licenses are automatically suspended if the physician loses employment (revoked after 6 months without new employment), loses liability insurance coverage, or if the supervising physician fails to submit required monthly performance reports
