Public employers in Wyoming are prohibited from deducting dues, fees, assessments, or contributions from employee pay on behalf of labor organizations, political action committees, political organizations, or candidates for office

Violations constitute a misdemeanor punishable by up to $1,000 fine, up to 6 months in county jail, or both

Firefighters retain collective bargaining rights under existing law, including the ability to bargain for wage deductions; public safety agencies and transit authorities receiving federal funding are also exempted

Public employees may still pay dues directly to labor organizations or political funds; the act does not require disclosure of union member identities

Effective January 1, 2027, and does not apply to contracts entered before that date
