Government entities in Wyoming are prohibited from purchasing, selling, trading, or transferring personal data without express written consent, with exceptions for transfers between government entities and to contracted service providers

Current or former Wyoming residents may request copies of their personal data from government entities and file objections regarding accuracy, completeness, or retention, with agencies required to respond within 60 days

Government entities must adopt policies for collection, access, retention, security, and use of personal data, and cannot retain personal data longer than 3 years without written justification

The judicial branch and law enforcement agencies are excluded from the definition of "government entity" under this act

Phased implementation requires state agencies to comply by July 1, 2027; counties, cities, universities, and towns by July 1, 2028; and other political subdivisions by July 1, 2029
