Wyoming Department of Transportation must conduct a study on transitioning to next generation 911, examining governance, operations, expenses, efficiencies, and funding, with results due to the legislature by September 1, 2027

Establishes a grant program allowing governing bodies that operate 911 systems to apply for funding to cover operational shortfalls, with applications accepted starting July 1, 2026

Appropriates $3,750,000 from the legislative stabilization reserve account, with $3,000,000 designated for grants and $750,000 for the study

Funding period runs from the effective date through June 30, 2028, with unexpended funds reverting at that time

Act takes effect immediately upon signing by the Governor
