Irrigation districts, watershed improvement districts, and water conservancy districts may include funding for major maintenance projects on aging irrigation infrastructure in their annual assessments

Water conservancy districts may levy up to 1 additional mill specifically for major maintenance projects, beyond existing mill levy limits

All major maintenance funds must be held in a separate dedicated account and pooled until sufficient to fund the intended project

Districts may invest major maintenance account funds with the state treasurer in local government investment pools

Effective July 1, 2026
