Wyoming state and local governments are prohibited from using any personnel or funds (state, federal, or other sources) to enforce, attempt to enforce, or provide material aid in implementing any federal law, treaty, executive order, rule, or regulation solely regarding firearms, accessories, or ammunition against law-abiding citizens

State agencies, political subdivisions, or law enforcement agencies employing officers who violate these provisions face mandatory civil penalties of $50,000 per violation, with sovereign immunity waived; courts must hold hearings on injunctive relief within 30 days of petition service

Agencies employing former federal government employees who enforce or provide material aid for federal firearm regulations on or after July 1, 2026 face $50,000 civil penalties per violation, enforceable through private civil actions with recovery of attorney's fees

Public officers or peace officers who knowingly violate the prohibition face misdemeanor charges punishable by up to 1 year imprisonment, a fine up to $2,000, or both

Exceptions allow assistance to federal authorities for cross-state criminal pursuits, federal drug/violent crime prosecutions with ancillary weapons charges similar to state law, and hiring of former U.S. armed services members; investigations and seizures related to Wyoming state law violations remain permitted
